    Lids suck.
I bought a 4 set (2 small, 2 large) while the glass is wonderful for storage – these are NOT airtight – these are NOT leakproof.

The uses you’ll find for this ensemble of Pyrex containers are limited only by your imagination.

The bowls and their covers are as air-tight as Rubbermaid and Tupperware, making them perfect for organizing the ingredients of an elaborate recipe ahead of time. Made from pure heat-resistant Pyrex glass, the bowls won’t absorb food odors or stains, so a bowl that has just contained chopped onions can be washed, rinsed, dried and immediately filled with strawberries, without fears of tainting one food with the flavor of another.

The 5-cup and 1 2/3 cup bowls are the right size for putting away individual servings from tonight’s dinner while the 3-quart bowl will swallow up the rest of the main entree. When it’s time to have lunch tomorrow, the vented covers release just enough steam while keeping the contents from drying out in the microwave oven.

An added bonus: The smaller bowls are identical to those in the Pyrex Personal Portable ensemble (also sold by Target through Amazon.com). By combining the 2 sets, you’ll quickly earn back the purchase price in what you would have spent for fast food or lunch from the cafeteria at work. After that, the savings are all yours.

    Great for Storage and microwaving
I give this product 4 stars but the lids 2. I bought these to replace my plastic containers, because of the reports of toxic substances being released when you microwave in…

I love these storage containers. They clean easily by hand or dishwasher, and the little pop-open microwave vent is fantastic. You hardly have to open them to go from Fridge to microwave. As other people have said, they’re cleaner than plastic.

Pyrex does occasionally crack or break (I broke a liquid 1-cup measure by pouring boiling water into it), but that’s pretty rare and I think I’d buy their ovenware casseroles for a real oven.

Note that these lids are much easier to open using both hands–you hold the dish and sort of peel the lid off from the small-lip side. This takes a little effort and proved to be a strain on the wrist for my mom, who has carpal-tunnel type wrist issues. So, I think I’d avoid these for people who are arthritic as well. But I love them and keep buying more.

I definitely prefer these over old style. Owned for over 8+ years.
I have two different sets of these Deluxe Pyrex. The older set has blue/purplish lids and was a large combo set with rectangle baking dishes and a large round dish along with the…

A passionate home cook that has been honing her cooking skills for the last 25 years writes this review. My favorite cookbooks are “The Professional Chef” by the Culinary Institute and “Culinary Artistry. Cooking is my form of therapy. I have owned my set of these for at least 5 years, and possibly longer. Additionally, I also own a set of the original Pyrex storage containers that do not have a vet.

The glass that these containers are made from is very tough. I have not broken a single one of these containers in the time that I have owned them. This may not sound like much but I am hard on things, and for all of them to still be intact is a minor miracle in my home. The glass is very tough.

    Pros:
    1. Glass is very tough, seems almost indestructible
    2. I like that they are not plastic, so I feel safe about reheating food in them
    3. The lids fit well and provide a tight seal
    4. The lids of this upgraded product appear to be more durable than the original Pyrex lids
    5. The vent is nice for microwave reheating without messing up your microwave’s interior
    6. These containers fit well into lunch bags so that you family can take your healthy home cooked food to work or school.
    7. The containers stack well inside each other for space cramped kitchens
    8. You can bake in these and then cool the food (I place the entire container into a roasting pan filled with ice water) put on the lid and slide the pan into the refrigerator.
    9. You can freeze food in these containers

    Cons:
    1. The lids are easy to use for me (I am 44 years old) but I suspect that they might pose a problem for older arthritic hands.
    2. The original Pyrex storage containers do not stack efficiently inside the new design. The shape is just a little different.

Overall, I would recommend these to anyone that likes to cook in quantity and doesn’t like to reheat food in plastic. I use these everyday in my kitchen.

I love them so much I am going to buy another set
These are the best? Glass so much better than plastic. The lids even have a vent for the microwave.

    Great Product
I’ve owned this set for over a year. I love how easy they clean and how you can use them in the microwave. The smaller containers I use to store seeds in.

Great for microwaving leftovers and lunches
These are great bowls! I was a little hesitant after reading reviews about the tightness of the lids. They are a little snug, but that’s what I wanted them for.

    Redesign lids
The lids are really difficult to attach to the bowls. The little spout to open on the top for microwaving comes totally off instead of opening one hole for steam as it is meant…

    Microvave safe containers
I bought these after reading an article saying that using plastic containers in microwave may increase risk of cancer.

    very nice
This set is fabulous!! I am never going back to plastic storage containers again. No odor or staining. I highly recommend.

    Much better than plastic
After fighting with plastic lids and containers that are mismatched and thrown helter skelter into a drawer, we bought these after our kitchen was remodeled.
